I will say nothing further on this, because the closer we got to launch the more stable the game became (patches and such), at launch the game still isn’t perfect at all, refusing to boot at times and crashing on the odd occasion. One in two times I’d try to boot up the game it would crash. I began my DIRT 5 journey with a review copy of the game. The embargo for this review dropped a while back, and whilst I’d aimed to publish my review when the embargo dropped I held off as there were a few niggles I was experiencing which I hoped would be ironed out, sooner rather than later.
Serving as the gateway for many as a way of understanding just what is in store for them – does this rally title proudly roar past us like a million dollar supercar and welcome us into a new dawn, of quietly splutter along like a Sunday shopper on their way to pick up the groceries? We’ve spent a vast amount of time on the PC port seeing just how good (or bad) it is. Even if you prefer to drive in the same few locations, then you'll appreciate how there are multiple tracks for each map.Coming at the very dawn of the next generation of consoles, DIRT 5 has a lot to live up to. The change in environment is refreshing in Dirt Rally, but not completely unfamiliar, which allows your driving skills from any map to translate over to other locations. However, there are also some more notable tracks, such as a location that allows you to ride through a town in Finland. Tracks that take you through a forest or a dirt road are common in Dirt Rally, which is unsurprising considering the game's name. With so many different tracks to experience, it'll take you a while before you can drive on all of them. As previously mentioned, the resolution is low however, that doesn't take away from how unique the environments appear while you're driving.
There are ten completely unique locations in Dirt Rally VR, and they each have multiple tracks within them that lead you down different paths.
